Beijos <3

Leticia, I also fell in love with Cagney from seeing 'Public Enemy' and use his films to pick myself up if times are tough, so I can relate to your comments! Love the clips you have chosen, including that one from G Men where he is practising his lawyer's speech.

You made a lovely tribute to James Cagney. I fell in love with him too when I was younger than you. The movie was "The Strawberry Blonde". I'll be thinking of you the next time I watch a Cagney movie.

Le, what a heartfelt vlog you made for the blogathon, a nice variation on the usual written post and very, very enjoyable to watch. I liked the clips you chose from "Public Enemy" and "Yankee Doodle Dandy." Also your point about how versatile an actor Cagney was, which I hope is a message people are taking away from the blogathon. Loved the bad haircut from "Jimmy the Gent." That bit of humor was a great touch.

What I most liked about the vlog, though, was the charming presenter! You made a good decision not to overload your vlog with clips and excerpts but to concentrate on what Cagney means to you and what an important part of your love of classic film he is. That personal, conversational touch really put your vlog over. Thanks for using your enthusiasm and your inventiveness for this wonderful contribution to the blogathon.

Beijos,

I want to add my own congratulations on your very touching and original video tribute to James Cagney. He was indeed one of the most versatile and talented actors in the whole history of motion pictures! It's impossible to watch the staircase dance number from Yankee Doodle Dandy and not smile in appreciation.

As a youngster I first saw Jimmy in Man of a Thousand Faces. And over time, White Heat has become one of my all-time favorite films. A Cagney film that's not often mentioned, but that's hilarious, is One, Two, Three (1961; it looks to be available on Amazon Instant Watch, among other things).

With young, enthusiastic fans and reviewers like you, the future of these great classic films is bright!
