I think it is because it has such great location scenery ( it was filmed at Lake George in the Adirondacks of New York ) and all of the actors look so good in the movie. But it certainly is heavy with drama ( to the point of being silly ). Gene Kelly was great in the movie and Paul Newman would have done the role really well, too, but I can't picture Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando in these parts! Thanks for picking this movie for the Natalie Wood blogathon. I feel like I should give it a re-watch though since I haven't seen it in over ten years. Thank you so much for this post about this film and the picture of Gene Kelly's unshaven face. He even looks handsome with all that facial hair! I'm kind of sad don't remember that part of the film.Overture Books and Filmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07290204115920410600noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5719905867000998397.post-23894312069693554762018-07-20T18:52:21.810-03:002018-07-20T18:52:21.810-03:00I haven't seen this yet. Oh, those titles and those theatre crazy girls! It sounds like it was a good casting plan on paper that just didn't work.Caftan Womanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05936895555808823221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5719905867000998397.post-34393294805524610472018-07-20T17:09:56.279-03:002018-07-20T17:09:56.279-03:00This is one of the few films of Natalie's that...This is one of the few films of Natalie's that I've yet to see. I've read other reviews that seem to agree with yours. Still, Marjorie Morningstar is a movie I have to watch if for nothing other than Natalie.Brittaneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13766658979578139012noreply@blogger.com
