Heck, I didn't even know Franchot Tone was making films in '33! Now I'll have to see it. I also loved the gif you posted where Joan says, "I keep on trying." That feels very, very true to Joan herself.Silver Screeningshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04955048716754142299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5719905867000998397.post-71319691430353007202018-07-27T06:17:38.181-03:002018-07-27T06:17:38.181-03:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Bloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07287821785570247118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5719905867000998397.post-49596593607985495392017-04-25T02:19:06.389-03:002017-04-25T02:19:06.389-03:00Lovely post!! I am so used to seeing Joan Crawford in dramatic roles, but she definitely got her start in the silent and musical realm. And Fred Astaire! I did not know that this was his first film! Thankfully, Flying Down to Rio came out the same year. And the Fred and Ginger magic was born :D !!!charsmoviereviewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07311033345038370735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5719905867000998397.post-30581661893454259652017-04-22T11:13:47.745-03:002017-04-22T11:13:47.745-03:00Thank you so much for your insightful coverage of ...Thank you so much for your insightful coverage of Dancing Lady! It's amazing to me just how famous names are in that cast and how many don't get the credit they deserve. I completely agree about some fast-paced footage (the Gable-Crawford chase down the street) looking more like late 1920's film work than 30's. The hair, makeup, and fashion of Joan as Janie is probably my very favorite Joan Crawford style.

I'm so happy you participated in the blogathon!Franchot Tone Fanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03226358191027628680noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5719905867000998397.post-52720820958509674062017-04-22T05:44:42.790-03:002017-04-22T05:44:42.790-03:00I must make a confession...I've never even hea...I must make a confession...I've never even heard of Franchot.
