Ladies and gentlemen of the audience! 2016 is a great year in blogging
for me. I started writing bilingual posts and was particularly proud of the infographics I created for this article about Alberto Cavalcanti. And now it's time
for another big step.
This humble blog survives thanks to blogathons, and now it's time for me
to accomplish a dream that once was among my New Year's resolutions: host my
own blogathon. The idea for the theme came when I was watching “El Circo”
(1943), starring Cantinflas. This film is the Mexican remake of the 1928 famous
Chaplin film.
Abram espaço no
Summer topou minha
ideia e estamos juntas neste circo!
Open space in the arena
for the At the Circus Blogathon, hosted by me and by dear Summer from the blog
Serendipitous Anachronisms! Summer is one of my favorite bloggers and one that
I got to know better in the last year or so. Summer liked my idea and now we
are together in this circus!
As regras para
ser admitido no show são simples:
The rules to be admitted
to the show are simple:
Escreva posts relacionados ao maravilhoso mundo
do circo!
bem-vindos!
Write posts about the
wonderful world of circus! The film may be set in the circus in its entirety or
only have a scene in a circus. We have no prejudice: carnivals and freak shows
are also welcome!
No limits of date: write
about movies made in any era.
No geographic limit:
write about movies made in any country (I’m looking at you, “La Strada”).
Não aceitamos
duplicatas.
No duplicates. Each magician must perform a different trick to be accepted in our
circus, OK?
Sem posts reciclados: só conteúdo novo. Você quer apresentar um número
inédito para a plateia, certo?
No recycled posts, only new content. You want to present a new number to
the audience, right?

I'd like to write about Something Wicked This Way Comes! A Shroud of Thoughts http://mercurie.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteParabéns, você merece. beijos, pedrita
ReplyDeleteI would be thrilled to write a piece on "Charlie Chan at the Circus" for your blogathon.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I'd like to write about "Sunny" (1930) if it is available.
ReplyDeleteWhat's this? "The Greatest Show on Earth"( 1952 ) has not been chosen yet? Please put us down for that title! - The Metzinger Sisters ( Silver Scenes ) silverscenesblog.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThis sounds delightful! Would Lili (1953) with Leslie Caron work?
ReplyDeleteI was going to do a review of "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" (1988) for my week long tribute to horror at Halloween time on my blog. But now I think I'll pick a different movie and reserve KKFOS for this blogathon.
ReplyDeleteHi Lê. Great idea for a blogathon. I would like to write about Charlie Chaplin's unfinished movie "The Professor" (192?). He operates a flea circus.
ReplyDeleteI would like to write about Susan Lenox (Her Fall and Rise) in which Garbo joins the circus.
ReplyDeleteAmanda from Old Hollywood Films
Hi...I have posted on Serendipitous Anachronisms but will post here too - does Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away count? If so, could I do that? If not, I'll find something else. Looking forward to this Blogathon!
ReplyDeletecan I change the topic of my review to this one, which has some circus elements as about a high wire artist -http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3488710/ … – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Walk_(2015_film) … -my blog is https://weegiemidget.wordpress.com/ . thanks, Gillx
ReplyDeleteHey Le-
ReplyDeleteWe have one change, Weegie Midget is covering The Walk (2015), instead of Madgascar 3.

Thank you for the update Le. I was planning on writing about THe Greatest Show on Earth over the weekend, and since I am in a writing mood I will probably send you the link early regardless. Just let me know whenever you have the Circus Blogathon up and running. :-) - Constance ( Silver Scenes )
